ANDY MURRAY WILL STAY ‘DANGEROUS’ IN GRAND SLAMS AND COULD CLOSE IN ON TOP 10 – MATS WILANDER

Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander believes that fellow US champion Andy Murray will remain “dangerous” at Grand Slam tournaments as long as he remains committed to training. Murray impressed going into this year’s Wimbledon but was unable to get past world No. 5 player Stefanos Tsitsipas, though he appears keen to remain in professional tennis for now.

Mats Wilander believes that Andy Murray will still be “dangerous” at Grand Slams and can get close to the top 10 once more.
The current world No. 40 is set to stay on for at least another year in professional tennis after landing triumphs at two grass court tournaments ahead of his 2023 Wimbledon campaign, when he lost an epic match with Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Murray’s ranking is partly to do with his struggles with fitness that will now be exacerbated by age, but which are indelibly linked to the major hip surgery he underwent when he was at the peak of his powers.

Speaking to Eurosport, Wilander said that Murray’s first requirement to remain in tennis would be to commit to practice, but his talent and experience is enough to take him further up the rankings.
He said: “Realistically for Andy Murray, it’s just to be able to get up in the morning.
