Historic Triumph: Inter Miami Blasts Into First MLS Cup Final with Messi Leading the Charge

Date:

In a display of utter dominance, Inter Miami CF is headed to the MLS Cup final for the first time in club history. Spearheaded by a sensational hat-trick from Tadeo Allende, the Herons dismantled New York City FC 5-1 in the Eastern Conference final, setting up a championship showdown at their home fortress in Fort Lauderdale.

The victory marks the culmination of a stunning playoff run for Lionel Messi’s team, which has now outscored its opponents 9-1 in two decisive knockout games.

Allende’s Hat-Trick Headlines a Commanding Performance

From the opening whistle, Inter Miami was in control, and the story of the night was Tadeo Allende. The Argentine forward, who also scored twice in the previous round, was simply unstoppable.

  • He opened the scoring in the 14th minute, latching onto a perfect through ball from Sergi Busquets and finishing coolly.
  • Just minutes later, he made it 2-0 with a brilliantly guided header from a pinpoint Jordi Alba cross.

Although NYCFC pulled a goal back before halftime, Inter Miami never lost their composure.

Messi’s Magic Seals the Deal

With NYCFC pushing for an equalizer in the second half, Inter Miami delivered a classic sucker-punch. After a crucial save from goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo, the Herons launched a devastating counter-attack.

The move was finished by Mateo Silvetti in the 67th minute, but it was orchestrated by the team’s biggest star. A flowing move involving Rodrigo De Paul and Jordi Alba was capped by Lionel Messi, who provided the final, defense-splitting pass for the assist that effectively killed the game.

Late goals from Telasco Segovia and Allende’s third added a spectacular gloss to the scoreline, igniting wild celebrations at DRV PNK Stadium.

A Home Final Awaits

With the Eastern Conference secured, Inter Miami now awaits the winner of the Western Conference final between San Diego FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps. The 2024 MLS Cup will be played on Saturday, December 7, at Inter Miami’s home ground, giving Messi and his teammates a chance to make history in front of their own fans.
